LAMONT HOMES ACCEPTED INTO ENTERPRISING WOMEN OF COLOR DMV BUSINESS CENTER’S “ASCEND.HER: PHOENIX COHORT”

We’re thrilled to announce our acceptance into the inaugural “Ascend. Her: Phoenix Cohort” of the Enterprising Women of Color DMV Business Center! This is the latest of Washington Area Community Investment Fund, Inc. (Wacif)‘s award-winning Accelerator programs. In the words of their CEO: “Women entrepreneurs of color lead the way nationally and regionally in small business and job creation.”

Lamont Homes employs 30 staff and serves 50 community members in need. We have done so across 40 years and 2 generations of black women. It’s an honor to be a contributor to this national trend. To quote Goldman Sachs’ “Black Womenomics: Investing in the Underinvested“: Investing in black women makes not only for a fairer, but a richer society. It’s good for growth.
